In this course, students learn about different Engineering Technologies and learn to solve real-world problems utilizing the iterative approach of the Engineering Design Process by creating hands-on solutions to specific problems. In PLTW, Design & Modeling, students will be creating their solutions using 3D Modeling software. With the Flashforge 3D Printer, they will be able to print out and test their solutions to make sure that they meet the design criteria. Having the ability to print out their designs and test them to see if they actually work, will be an invaluable and incredible benefit to the student experience. The benefits of having these resources to fully develop the students' twenty-first century skills will be incredible. Many of the skills learned in the Design and Modeling and the other PLTW courses are directly transferable to many STEM Careers such as all types of engineering, medical careers, architecture, etc.
