Everyone knows that kindergarten students love to move. They thrive on learning while moving. Kids in this age group shouldn't be expected to sit in the same spot for an extended period of time. I have decided to design a classroom with movement in mind. This is why flexible seating is the best option for my classroom. I will have a table at traditional height with regular chairs with fidget bands to allow for feet movement. I will have lower tables where students may use a floor cushion to sit on. I will use the stools for my guided reading table. The classroom set of clipboards will allow the students to move around the classroom freely while working. I believe my students will be more engaged and enjoy having the freedom of choice to sit where they learn best.
