To help with the social and emotional needs of all of our students, I want to provide an area in the classroom for students to go if they need to reset, relax, or refocus. It will be a quiet space where a student can go if needed and a place where I can attend to the individual needs of students when they need help. Kindergarten students are early learners who are working hard to build endurance in their listening ability as well as with their academic and social skills. Your donation will help to provide a comfortable, calm, and safe area for students in our classroom to sit and regroup so they are ready to do their best learning. Students feeling anxious or overwhelmed or uncertain will have the flexible seating of the rocking chairs and smaller carpet in this safe area. This will greatly help them to calm and refocus.
