With over 7-hour long days in the classroom, movement is an important part of the day, these seating options will allow more movement to get through the day. It allows students to choose where they think they will be the most successful in their learning while working in spaces all around the room. My students currently have the option to choose to sit on the floor, under the table or to simply stand. I have a barstool, pillows and rugs that were donated to me, but I would like the opportunity to have more options for them to choose from. Being given a chance to choose where they work has greatly motivated them and taught them about responsibility and making good choices about where they sit.
