Our building used to be a warehouse in SW Portland and all the floors are concrete. Although we try to get out of the classroom often, much of each day is spend in the building and we have all felt the effect of standing and sitting on concrete. I have tried to make it as welcoming and comfortable as possible and these cushions will allows the students make a cozy space where ever they choose to be. It is hard to concentrate when lying or sitting on a cold concrete floor. These cushions are portable and durable and are used by other teachers in the school so the students already are familiar with their use. Our school has about 30% special needs students and I predict it will improve every one's focus and comfort and allow them to work in flexible places.
