The students I teach in North Carolina are from lower socio-economic backgrounds and come to school with few of their own materials. Our school has limited resources in today's economy, so I try to provide for my students as much as I can. My students are motivated and creative, and I want to continue to mentor and inspire them to do more. I teach many students who have failed math in the past, and have even failed Algebra previously. Many started the year with negative feelings and attitudes about math. Now after the first 9 weeks of school, many have already told me that this is the first time they have made a B in math, or that this is the first time they really understand what they are doing when they take a math test!
