The whole point of this project is that it is not a project. Commonly, the students are exposed to the art of poetry in units or in single poems that are related to other works. This is absolutely fine and I still intend to do this. But this "project" is simply a way for the students to read one poem ever day or every other day in order to get a continuous, daily(ish) exposure to poetry and the art of language. These poems are to be delved into, discussed, and responded to, but only by the volition of the students. Ultimately, we will be exploring poetry in the most natural manner that we can. In doing so, we will learn about each other and ourselves. The results should be nothing short of beautiful.
