Our school is part of a district. We have 5 elementary schools that attend one middle and high school. We do receive state funding but that has been shrinking each year. Currently we are a performing school. 71% of our school is reading on grade level. The students in my classroom are wonderful. They are excited about learning. I am excited about teaching them. This year I don't have a middle to teach to. I have a very high group and a low group who struggles with reading. The high group is self motivated and I have a lot of literature to support them. The low readers need to have daily support. I need to help them increase their reading skills and develop the independence that the higher readers have, so I use them to model what a "good reader looks like".
