Providing flexible seating for my students will benefit them in various ways. First, they are able to decide where to sit. When students have a choice and some control, they learn better. Second, flexible seating encourages students to share, take turns in different locations and take turns in various seating options. Third, flexible seating permits students to move. Students need to move so they do not become disruptive and distracted. In addition, they will also feel comfortable. Flexible seating will help them focus, be productive and feel comfortable while they are learning. Although every year we have a different group of students, flexible seating would be an asset for all students for years to come.
