I am implementing BLENDED LEARNING this year and hope to add more flex seating options to make the personalized learning approach most successful! My classroom is in the beginner mode of flex seating and in desperate need of more options. My students have taken so much ownership of their learning through flex spaces. I see a sense of responsibility and excitement to tackle learning tasks, and it has motivated me to look into adding new pieces such as the wobble chairs, tactile pillows, and floor chairs! I will be using the wobble chairs to help students focus and move in my small group area where collaboration and hands-on activities will be implemented. The floor chairs and tactile pillows will be part of different station rotations and to be used with technology pieces. I think all of these items will also add a sensory element which my students need! I truly believe flex is revolutionizing modern classrooms to become more student-centered and appropriate for little learners. Flex seating has begun to be implemented in restaurants, public venues, and modern workplaces, and I think reflecting our classrooms to this style will yield many benefits for this generation!
