I have a total of 30 students including English language learners with a variety of different learning styles. I'm a fairly new teacher at that school, with not many materials to meet my students needs. The students are noticeably more engaged in their work when they have manipulatives and the use of technology . The Chromebooks will help differentiate instruction for each student learning style, by providing an alternative method of achieving conceptual understanding, procedural skill and fluency. The use of manipulatives in math is a must. In general, math and word problems are challenging for students at any age, but particularly for second graders. Becoming proficient in math is crucial in 2nd grade because it sets children up for success in the grades to come. The use of the snap cubes for counter help math problems at this age become less complex. Please help me provide the materials needed to support my student's learning styles.
