I would love to get a cozy and colorful rug to help create a sense of community in our classroom as well as give the room a bright and cheery feel. This rug will become our common meeting place where we can have class meetings, do team-building activities, listen to and discuss read alouds, and do some whole group instruction. A classroom rug will also serve as a comfortable space where students can choose to read independently or work with their peers on different activities. My students love having different seating options where they are able to complete their work, instead of being limited to their desks all day. My third grade students and I would be so grateful to have this project funded so they can sit on the floor comfortably for various day to day activities.
