We teach using a multisensory approach, we use technology to integrate math, science and language arts in the garden. Our students construct structures using real-life math. The mentor text are used to guide students to be successful and bump in the rigor based on their instructional reading level. We encourage students to be more critical thinkers and help motivate them that even if the classroom may be a struggle, we can still use their expertise in a different environment. When things are given to them using a hands-on approach it helps our students. What we learn, plant and harvest. They use math skills to cook using the plants from the garden. They study the benefits of each plant and as long as it relates to the real-world experience they are extremely eager to get their hands dirty.
