In my district I teach at 3 schools and have 3 separate classrooms. This makes providing a comfortable and inviting environment on a budget very difficult. I would like to provide my middle school students with a more inviting place to learn by giving them their own cubby and area for their things. At this time we have no furniture besides a couple of storage shelves and tables and chairs, but, nothing for the students to house their items. I want to give them ownership of the room by giving them personal space. It will make it easier for them to leave items in my room without worrying if anyone might consider it public property! I also have lots of Scholastic News magazines. We tackle current event issues and have debates on subjects each month when we get the magazines. I don't have a place to house them, and they are stacked in tubs. I'd like the students to be able to see the covers so that they are invited to pick up the magazines and read for themselves. The magazine rack with be great for this!
