This kidney shaped table will allow for me to effectively meet with my small groups for individualized instruction. I have been using a small round table for doing guided reading groups. This hasn't worked well considering that 5th graders come in all shapes and sizes and fitting them comfortable and strategically isn't easy. Let's not forget that I too need a spot! I often need to see what a student is writing, highlighting, or reading and it is hard to do when I am far away from them and leaning over other students. I also listen to individual students whisper read for me and with my current table, I have to either move around to that student or have them move closer to me, not easy, and definitely distracting to the others in the group. This generous donation of a kidney table will allow my students the ability to comfortably and effectively get the individualized instruction they need to grow. By having this workspace for guided reading, math and any small group instruction, I will be able to provide my students with a suitable learning environment for small instruction. I thank you for considering this donation, thus being my partner in teaching. It truly does take a village!
