Everyone knows that things run more smoothly in an organized environment and this is especially true in a classroom filled with excited little learners. It is my goal to develop a classroom where all of my students know where all of our important learning tools belong and can access them quickly when they need them. Knowing where things are located will encourage them to find their tools and get to work on their learning tasks quickly. More time on task will ideally lead to more learning.
We will use the rolling storage drawer systems to store a variety of paper, blank books, sticky notes, and special pens for writing our very own books and highlighting important things we read in books. The bins and boxes will be used to store books and learning games so we get to them easily. The pencil pouches will store personal tools we need on a minute by minute basis. When the children know where all of our things "live" our classroom will run smoothly with fewer interruptions in teaching time while developing independence and responsibility.
