Water is a necessity for learning. If the students are hydrated, they are able to focus, and increase their attention and retention. My class is being moved to the mobiles where there is no running water or bathrooms. Meaning, we would have to take whole bathroom breaks, and whole water breaks. Our school has only one water bottle fountain, and the classrooms does not have a sink. I would be losing a great amount of instruction time in order to have an entire grade level. (two-three other classes besides mine) go to ONE water fountain in the school. While there is not much I can do about a bathroom break, I can purchase a water bottle for each student, and make them responsible for filling up the water at home. The students would essentially be checked out the water bottle for the year. This would cut down between 30 to 40 minutes a day on water breaks alone! Which can be used towards instruction!
