Center time is a crucial time in my classroom. This is where students get to independently practice the skills I have taught them. Each center activity focuses on 1 TEK. As I tell my students practice makes better. Students learn best through play. Worksheets are a thing of the past. Students will use different hands on activities to learn the skills to better prepare them for First grade. We are requesting magnetic ten frames, addition and subtraction games, sight word and letter sounds games and more. These items will allow my students to have interesting activities in their center. With students being engaged in their activity the classroom behavior will decrease which allows myself to work more closely with struggling students.
