Currently, most of my students cannot afford graphing calculators. This gives them a disadvantage when learning upper-level math. Students need to learn math in 4 ways: Graphically, Numerically, Algebraically, and Writing. (Known as GNAW). Graphing calculators help with all 4 areas of math and are a necessary tool for precalculus, calculus and beyond. My students will be better able to explore upper-level math in a hands-on approach. Students will be better prepared for college entrance exams and for their post-high school careers and college courses in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. (STEM careers) All students should have equal access regardless of their background.
