At my school, we teach in ways that hook the students' interest and connect them with real-life problems. This project will fund a way to organize the students' "stuff." This stuff- tools, tape, recycled boxes, wires, and plastic-- will be used by the kids to engineer totally new solutions to problems we investigate. This makerspace system will add tools to our junk collection and allow us a way to organize our workspace-- making engineering more efficient and fun. Currently, all the materials we have gathered are piled in cardboard boxes. The students and I hop around looking for materials instead of concentrating on the learning at hand. This system will help us streamline our efforts.
