The flexible-seating movement is fostering a growing list of physical, emotional and academic benefits for all students. While working independently or with a partner, students can have their own alphabet carpet square for a sense of ownership and responsibility. They can also use the dry erase circles to collaborate with their partner(s). The wobble chair, the chair ball with feet, and the fidget chair bands allow students to engage in activities during instruction to help them stay focused and alert. My students have various needs and abilities. By giving them the opportunity to choose the learning style that best suits them, it will help them stay engaged and also help them be responsible for their own learning. I want every student to feel that they have the tools that they need to succeed.
