With these Kindle fires, my students will work at a 'fire station' for both Reading and Math Centers. They will be able to practice skills taught in class, measuring their growth as they sharpen these skills. There is a huge discrepancy in the way that individual students learn, and the rate at which they learn. This 'fire station' will engage all students, filling in the gaps that naturally occur in learning. Students will practice locating information for research, publish reports, poems, readers theater, and much more. (Ohio Learning Standards Technology.) Students will connect with a student across the country, via email as a penpal.
