Did you take a foreign language class in High School? How much do you remember? For most people, they only remember "¡Hola" or "¿Puedo usar el baño?" I completely changed the way that I teach this year after I saw how bored my students were and how bored I was teaching the same old grammar-based way. After doing easily over a hundred hours of research, all of the data pointed me towards comprehensible input. Students need to acquire the language not "learn" it. When you give students a long list of out of context vocabulary and bog them down with drill-and-kill grammar, it doesn't stick. My students are receiving amazing comprehensible input through listening but the data very clearly shows that the more that students read, the more proficient they will become in the language. I have always wanted to be the best teacher that I can be for my students and that has cause me to spend thousands to help my students get what they need. I am asking for your help to give my students a chance to thrive and help them in their journey towards bi-literacy.
