Using Alexa will help my students answer those fun and challenging questions that are often asked in the classroom! Children love to challenge their teacher with outrageous questions that even a scientist may need helping answering. Having Alexa will allow us to challenge her instead...lol We will also use Alexa to play music while we work or even meditate before a test. Additionally, having Alexa will provide them with an opportunity to work on their communication skills by asking clear questions to Alexa as they gain confidence in communicating with their peers and other adults. Some other uses of Alexa will be: *Strengthen listening comprehension skills *Practice spelling/ Spelling Bee *Vocabulary *Research *Encourage curiosity While newer school buildings are equipped with optimal LED lighting, our beautiful building was build over 20 years ago. Adding lighting to our classroom environment will help create an atmosphere that is perfect for all of the independent reading that we will do during our reader's workshops. These lights will also make our "brain breaks", "UBT" and "DEAR TIME" extra special, by adding color and excitement to our classroom environment. Learning will be more engaging with creative uses of lights, colors, and Alexa commands!
