We are requesting dividers, math shapes, and a seat for the teacher to join in on carpet time to be more organized and engaged in the classroom. All of these materials will be put to a very good use in the classroom. The chair will be a useful tool as I will be able to have full engagement with my students while they are with me on the carpet. The more focused and engaged they are, the more the students learn and retain which makes for a successful classroom environment.
The geometric shapes will provide a hands on teaching tool as we do our daily calendar in math. Students tend to understand more when they have a visual or hands on model to work with. I feel this will be very beneficial in my classroom.
Dividers will also help with having my students become more organized. As they start third grade, teaching responsibility and organization is a skill that they will continue to use for the rest of their lives. These dividers will allow them to start to become more organized and responsible with their papers they need to keep track of and notes for lessons. Being organized leads to happy students and teachers!
