This seating will help to create an individualized learning experience for each student. By setting the room up into collaborative groups, students will be able to choose their own learning environment. We use the workshop model for reading and writing and group set up is crucial to a fully experiencing the lesson, group input, and processing. The Zynergy and ball chairs and swivel stools will be beneficial to kinesthetic learning as well as fun. Students will be able to incorporate movement into reading, writing and discussions. The Learning Lounge will let students pick their best learning environment. Choosing to sit on wobble chairs, the floor, a couch, or cafe stool to work in a group can enhance the learning. Many younger students have collaborative seating groups, why should middle school have to sit in traditional rows? This neither benefits social growth nor emotional support of working in a group.
