My group of students is part of a public-school center that’s designed to serve students with disabilities aged 18-22 years who require instruction through a modified curriculum focused on life and career skills. We provide career and independent living skills training to students with disabilities as well as empower and prepare them for transition to a variety of post-secondary options. Each year that students are with us, they participate in school-based or community-based job sites, both enclave and independent. Our self-sustaining catering and culinary arts program teaches our students with disabilities the skills necessary to gain and keep employment in a culinary field. We do everything we can to provide them with opportunities to practice culinary skills, such as dessert, cake and cookie decorating. Our students have so much potential and would benefit from having tools necessary to grow their knowledge and experience in that field. Having these dessert decorating tools would boost our students skills and increase the clients buying their amazing products.
