I want to transform my traditional classroom into a space that feels more like home. All of the items I chose helped to make this goal a reality. The black polka dot rug is fun, but has a specific purpose. It will be placed in our reading area, which is also our whole group gathering place. I do a lot of direct instruction in this area and the dots will help to seat students in their own space. The bean bag chairs and the other comfy chairs will be placed around our classroom. Students will be allowed to relax and do some reading or complete individual work. The stools I chose have bright fun colors, and will be placed around our small group table. As for the pillows, they have inspirational says, which will help students to know they are loved.
