A school garden will help extend the classroom beyond the traditional setting by expanding it to the great outdoors. Gardening provides students with a hands-on learning opportunity while teaching them about responsibility, problem-solving, and the value of fruits and vegetables. A classroom garden provides students with more than just learning about plants-a garden gives students the opportunity to come up with solutions to challenges they might not get to experience. The materials on this list will allow me to provide this wonderful learning experience for my sweet 1st-grade students.
