By introducing a variety of woodworking skills including handling a hammer and handsaw, learning to use screws, nails and sandpaper and of course the importance of making careful measurements, my students will find a sense of satisfaction completing projects all on their own. We've never had a woodworking club so we're starting from scratch and are looking for the bare essentials. I am most looking forward to their reactions after they have cut, nailed, sanded and stained a simple piece of wood into something beautiful. Going forward, I am hoping to expand the club to be able to offer it to more than 12 students at a time and introduce power tools!
