Many students often struggle with reading and writing. It's hard to be a good writer without seeing examples of good writing. Examples and mentor texts are the best way for students to grow. A document camera would make it easier to model the writing process, and also show pieces of published work for us to imitate. I believe it is crucial for students to see with their own eyes someone model the writing process - to see that the struggles and changes are all part of being a writer. I also believe we have to look at published work to be inspired. With a document camera, we could easily project pieces of work on the board to dissect. Having a document camera would also allow students to better show off their pieces and be proud of their success!
