Last year was my first year teaching kindergarten! As excited as I was to teach my 20 students, it was sometimes a challenge to keep their engagement in the classroom due to limited resources. My classroom is in desperate need of manipulatives or "table toys." Using manipulatives and other toys in the classroom supports all areas of a child's development. Children can practice a variety of skills through manipulatives, including: *fine-motor skills *problem solving *social interaction with peers (sharing, modeling, etc.) *mathematical concepts (similarities/differences, classification, patterning, etc.) *practicing creativity These toys will be used during center time in order to keep students engaged and excited about learning!
