There materials will be using foster social emotional learning in the classroom, particularly for my first grade students. The journals will be used on a daily basis as a way to check in with each child. It will help provide a voice to the students who may not be able to necessarily speak about what they are feeling. The Social Emotional matching set will be used to reinforce skills taught both in the general education setting and small group setting. Finally, the conversation starters will be used in a small group to help the students learn to communicate with their peers and adults in the school building. The punch cards will serve as a tangible tracker of individualized students progress. Please help me provide my students with the opportunity to receive instruction on social skills in an attempt to better support their growth and development in the whole group setting.
