A large amount of a child's life will be spent in the classroom. The classroom is where children will learn the skills necessary to be valuable members of society. The classroom is also where many students will discover the talents they have to offer the world and develop the goals for their future. Seeing as the classroom is such an important setting in the life of a child, I am striving to achieve a bright and positive classroom environment for my students. Part of this goal will be achieved through a vibrant classroom rug that will serve as central location for students to sit during whole group instruction and collaborative activities. In addition to creating an attractive and bright space for students to learn and collaborate, I also believe that it is important to provide students with the opportunity to develop essential life skills in the classroom, such as organization. Through providing students with individual seat sacks on their desk chairs, I can promote the importance of organization and its positive effects on student learning! Through this project, it is my hope that I will be able to create an environment in which students are encouraged to collaborate and grow together while also developing the necessary skills needed to succeed in an out of the classroom.
