My early childhood, special education learners need a variety of hands-on activities and tools that will continue to enhance their pre-academic skills in the classroom. My students have high energy levels, express many emotions, and like to keep busy. With more hands-on learning options, my students will have greater interest in working on assigned tasks independently. Although paper and pencil activities are still important, it is rewarding for my students to use fun and interactive activities that will enhance their academic development. Students continue to learn while they explore and play. With these new materials, my students will be able to work independently and stay engaged while enhancing their alphabet letter knowledge, sound knowledge, pre-reading and mathematical skills. My students will also make gains towards their fine motor and gross motor skills. One of the best way to increase on-task behavior is giving students choices and interactive activities that still allows them to learn at the same time. My students have already shown great interest in staying on task and working independently when given fun, hands-on activities that align with the curriculum. This project will further support my student’s abilities to stay engaged while learning. Thank you for your support!
