The books in this Rooted in Reading curriculum provide students with a diverse range of learning to enhance Language Arts Instruction. It chooses a read aloud each week of the year to focus on so students can build literacy skills like writing, reading, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, art activities and SO much more! All of the activities are based around this book of the week. These lessons are creative, engaging AND meet all of our state standards! They will learn crucial reading skills through different authors and genres. Teaching reading and reading skills are a huge part of a student’s life- both in and out of school! My students need a wide variety of engaging books. These books make it possible to make deep and meaningful connections. Adding books into the classroom that showcase diverse storylines and characters is so important and will help teach them these skills.
