As technology continues to capture the minds and attention of our students, books are losing value. It is extremely important that students are still being exposed to physically picking up a book and reading it. These bean bags and rug will create a welcoming, warm, and relaxed space for the students to go and read a book. I have seen reading used as a punishment too many times; this needs to change. I want my students to get lost in books as it expands their vocabulary, imagination, knowledge, and overall love for reading. My goal is to change the way my class approaches reading. The world becomes even larger when you open a book. By donating to my project I believe these bean bags/rug will change the "feel" of the space and foster a love for reading. The K'NEX set is an additional need for my classroom. Over the years I have seen the love of my students for working with building materials. The sense of creativity and collaboration it lends to in the classroom is amazing. However, the sense of accomplishment they feel once they have constructed something is priceless. I think these K'NEX will encourage the students to be thinkers, creators, and problem solvers. Thank You for donating to our project. We are looking forward to the 2019-2020 school year!
