I am Ms. Stewart and this will be my first year teaching! Getting placed in a 3rd grade classroom, I’m thinking of all of the ways to create an inviting, inspiring and independent environment!!! I chose two different types of flexible seating to give the students options for independent reading time and as a different seating option at their tables. I’ve seen the benefits that come from flexible seating, not only in their performance, but also in creating more of a “home” feel. I also added 30 small individual whiteboards. The whiteboards will serve as a way for me to see my students work but also so my students can take ownership in their work and have it accessible at all times. These three different items are things that I believe will have the biggest impact and will be used every day. I’m beyond excited to see my classroom come together and to share it with my students!
