In fourth grade it’s all about finding the right books to engage these kids. When doing literature studies, if the students enjoy what they are reading they will learn without even realizing it. They also need a variety of reading material. If the students can make a connection to the text, it pulls them right in! These books will push them with their vocabulary, writing, and comprehension. In Arizona it is common to have students that have limited English skills. Great reading material helps to expand their vocabulary. It is also awesome to be able to walk around the room and see kids totally engrossed in what they are doing!
