The students will utilize the composition notebooks daily throughout my math class. Using the guided math model, students will use them for guided practice and record modeled strategies as well as their interpretations of math terms. Also, the chart paper is used for teacher/student -created anchor charts, to model difficult strategies, and to provide a platform for students to create math stories to share with the class. In addition, I use plastic sleeves in place of whiteboards where students can provide immediate feedback on their understanding of concepts. What becomes a problem is that the markers never seem to last, erasers seem to disappear, and have to be replaced often which leads to disruptions in the flow of learning. So, it would be great to have extras on hand. By having headphones, students will be able to work quietly on classroom tablets or GeoSafari Math activities without disrupting others or being disrupted and focus on increasing their learning! Ultimately, your donation will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus but also help to increase their academic achievement.
