The resources I am asking for are meant to be used to build relationships between my students as well as build their basic math skills. My students are often staying after school to get in some extra math practice. They are eager to learn in a different and fun way. These math skills cards would be used as games after school as well as games kids can play while they are eating breakfast before school. Playing games with peers helps students learn how to show humility when winning, be gracious losers, work as a teammate, and build friendship through common interests and experiences. The added bonus is that these cards would simultaneously be building their math skills and show kids that they can ask their peers academic questions and challenge each other even outside of class time. This project is important because it will build my students academics and character. It will give them a great way to continue to practice math skills outside of their math lesson block. These activities will help students see how much fun math can be!
