Within my first grade classroom, my little ones need to have the flexibility to sit differently depending on the type of activity. These first graders are 6 and 7 years old. They should not and cannot stay seated at a desk/chair all day long. They need the option to have flexible seating choices throughout the classroom. Throughout the day, the students are engaged in centers thus giving them the educational movement needed to remain on task. By having the wobble chairs and the carpet to use as seating within the centers, the students remain active yet on task with learning.
