My classroom is being converted to dual-language bilingual. We have many English books, but we do not have a Spanish library. With a Spanish library my students will be able to learn to read in their native language, grow their love of books, and expand their imaginations. Most of my students come from a low-income family, so providing books in the classroom is crucial to their literacy development. By interacting with Spanish books, they will be able to re-tell and apply their learning at home in their Spanish-speaking family environment.
