As adults it is hard to sit still for extended periods of time. It is not any easier when you're asking that of a group of 11 year old students, while also asking them to give their undivided attention. My students have a wide variety in how they're most comfortable learning. I would like to offer the best environment for them to be able to be comfortable while working hard in my classroom by giving them "flexible seating" options. Giving them the seating that allows them to fidget, wiggle, and just be overall relaxed will help them be more engaged in the lessons. Many of my past students just need flexibility to be relaxed and the ability to move around a bit to be more focused in class.
