My hope is to get all of my students to read at a proficient level by the end of the school year. Aside from the reading strategies taught inside the class, I want to help them ignite their passion for reading. My students need more than the reading passages from the state-provided reading curriculum to challenge them further in reading. I’ve realized their passion for reading must be ignited within the classroom as early as 2nd grade.
