These books will be used to teach alongside the curriculum in the ELA classroom, as well as tie into our Social Studies units of Ancient and World History. It will also lend itself to one of our Project Based Learning units which will students will learn about overcoming adversity, diversity and intolerance. These books will help challenge our students and help them grow as readers. The curriculum being taught is rigorous and having a class set for students to use will not only increase their reading skills, but will help me provide them the resource to reference back to at their own pace without having to share during class time. It will allow me to meet the needs of students at all levels, as well as expose students to different types of literature, helping them discover potential new interests in Reading.
