After teaching 3rd and 4th grade for eight years, I made the leap to Middle School Language Arts. My goal for this school year is to build community among my learners and inspire them to be be lifelong readers and writers. Every day in our learning community, we read independently or in small groups. Currently my classroom library is limited to books that are for younger learners. I want my learners to have voice and choice in what they are reading everyday. With these new books, my learners will be able to find something that inspires them. We all know that the number one way to increase reading skills is to provide students the opportunity to read every day, even in Middle School. I am confident that an updated classroom library will enhance and inspire learning for everyone.
