So many of my kiddos enter kindergarten without being read to at home. The importance of kids being read to is extremely helpful and important. Books expose kids to experiences, vocabulary and learning. Hearing someone model and read aloud with expression, voices and enjoyment is something every child should get to experience. Kindergarten independent centers are tough because they struggle to read independently, but this project allows them the perfect opportunity to grow as a reader. I wish I could be 4 teachers at one time and be with each group but a listening center would help one center immensely.
