My classroom library currently consists of hundreds of books at a kindergarten level, most of which I had purchased with personal funding. I will be keeping these books in my classroom since I know I will have students not at grade level. However, I would love to update my library to diversify the levels of books so all of my students can be challenged and find books that meet their reading needs. Many of the books that I have selected could be used for weekly Accelerated Reader quizzes, which test the students’ comprehension on a given book. Having a broader level of books would be of great benefit to my students. I appreciate any and all support given. I cannot wait to help my students broaden their language skills through reading! As I have previously stated, I currently only have books suited for kindergarten students. I know that my new second graders will need books with richer vocabulary, fewer pictures, and more words. I know that having a great variety of books is important to have in every classroom so students may read to what suits their interests as well as stimulating their minds while doing so. With adding the award winning second grade favorite pack, non-fiction pack on historical figures, and STEAM pack to my classroom library, I know that I will have books that will help my students learn all subject matters.
