I am looking to use these H.E.R.O. Binders to keep all important materials located in one area. Students will take their binders to and from school on a daily basis. One of the successful components of using an organizational binder is having a place for Math study guides, ELA study guides, Science study guides, Social Studies study guides, a section for an educational websites list, a section for teacher contact information, and an important paper section so students and parents know what should be signed and returned to school. In addition, the H.E.R.O. binders will be used to hold the students' agenda books, test folders, and homework folders. I believe the students could benefit from these organizational binders by modeling a process of organization not only for school, but also in the real world. Imagine a classroom where students blossom into confident students knowing where their homework, study guides, and important papers for home are ALL located. Even parents will be more at ease when they can efficiently be involved and understand their child's daily handouts and progress from the use of their organized binder. Furthermore, for parents who may suffer from adult ADHD/ADD and/or executive dysfunction, the HERO Binder can be used to aid and assist in the partnership of their children's education. “Organization crosses all studies for higher education and all life situations. Directly teaching organizational skills aids students for their current task (school) while preparing them for their latter tasks (workforce). Simple tools such as binders increase learning time and grades earned by students while decreasing their frustration. Teachers who teach organization skills to their students are teaching important lessons for school, as well as for life.”[ERIC]
